NYSANA President and Board Program Chair to Present at AANA Region One Conference in Puerto Rico
ALBANY, N.Y. – Jessica Pitman, DNP, CRNA, president of the New York State Association of Nurse Anesthetists, and Board Program Chair Meaghan McCloskey, MS, CRNA, will present at the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists’ Region One Conference taking place from Feb. 28 to March 3 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Pitman, a Monroe, NY, resident, will make two presentations: A “NYSANA Update” of past and present advocacy work in New York, and “Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS): Where are We Now?” Attendees will review ERAS protocols and their related outcomes since their implementation into anesthetic protocols. Regional anesthetic techniques and pharmacological agents used in ERAS protocols will be discussed to improve patient outcomes.
McCloskey, a Saugerties, NY, resident, will present “Hands-on Ultrasound Guided Regional Anesthesia Workshop.” Her co-presenter will be Jeremy Lombardoni, MS, CRNA, ACNP, NYSANA member and private practitioner. This workshop will give participants an opportunity to learn ultrasound guided regional anesthesia with a hands-on approach.
