Maribeth Massie for AANA Treasurer

NYSANA nominated Maribeth Massie, current AANA Director of Region 1, for AANA Treasurer in 2019. Make sure to vote in the AANA Election. 

MASSIE'S STANCE ON CURRENT PRESSING TOPICS FOR THE AANA

  • American Association of Nurse Anesthesiologists: Leaning in favor of the name change and continuing to listen to members concerns and questions
  • NBCRNA: Need to make sure that the exam is one of several options for recredentialing, not mandatory. We have work to do on ascertaining costs and how the alternatives will look
  • AANA Response time to members on crucial issues: Need real-time team of consultants (PR, political) and CRNA subject matter experts (state and national) who can be deployed asap. Massie supports investigating and creating this strategical endeavor
  • Any attacks on our profession, be it the ASA, APSF, or others: We can not back down or compromise our core values. We need to be cohesive and strong
  • Full scope of practice for our students: Full scope of practice and the ability for our graduates to function as independent practitioners is a number one priority.
  • Redistribution of funds to states: An overhaul of OHA/SRF needs to be completed and are currently looking at this in the Governance Task Force
